Church Leaders

All Missions and Institution Heads

All Directors of MYUM

Dear Fellow Leaders of God’s Church,

Greetings from MYUM Headquarters and wishing you a happy and prosperous New Year of 2010.

This is to inform or remind you about some of the plans that the church has made for 2010 as follows.

1. Book of the Year 2010 for Pastor – Pastoral Ministry (MYUM Action 2009-175)

We have designated the book “Pastoral Ministry” as the book of the year 2010 for pastors and one unit of continuing education credit will be granted through the local mission’s Ministerial Association Secretary upon completion of the reading. So please let all your pastors get the book and read it through in order to be more effective workers in His service.

2. Creation Sabbath 2010 (MYUM Action 2009-181)

We have accepted the date October 23, 2010 as Creation Sabbath as voted by the General Conference. So please do not fail to inform all the churches about this so that the pastors preach on that particular date about the important subject of Creation.

3. General Conference Session Offering (MYUM Action 2009-182)

The GC has set aside April 10 and July 3, 2010 as the dates to collect Special Offering which will target an area in the 10/40 window. The offering will be called “Lighting A Path of Hope”. As the Myanmar Union Mission is located in 10/40 window area, we will definitely receive some portion of this collected offering to spread the gospel in our country. Let us remember these dates and announce it at least one week ahead of time so that everyone may give generously for the Lord.

4. One Offering Plan Percentage for Temperance Program (MYUM Action 2009-185)

As the church temperance work is “One of the most prominent and important of moral reform” (GC 587) in society and as the challenge in temperance program both inside (37% of our young people in SSD have problem with drug, tobacco and alcohol), and outside the church demand serious attention, we have set aside 5% from the One Offering Plan for the temperance cause in every local mission. So, it is to warn local mission treasurers to be aware of this important matter and keep aside the said percent of one offering to meet the plan.

5. Theme for the Year of 2010 – People of Hope (ajrmfvifhjcif;&Sdolrsm;) – (MYUM Action 2009- 193)

Please let all the churches know about our theme for 2010 and let them put it on the front up the platform where every member can see while worshipping the Lord together in the church each week.

6. Missionary Book of the Year 2010 – When God Said “Remember” – (MYUM Action 2009- 196)

The missionary book of the year for 2010 is “When God Said Remember” translated in Myanmar is “rarhtyfaomaeU”. It is very important book to reach everyone on this planet earth so that everyone may come to know the Creator, the true God by reading it. This book is translated and printed for the purpose of every believer to purchase and share it to others who are around us. It is not for sale. Please promote this initiative and do not let these books remain idle in your book store. Let our books speak to others.

Dear leaders, this message is for you. But let these messages reach every pastor, church, and company through you so that all members may know the plans of the church for this year and live for Him as He wants us to live as planned. Please forward these important plans to your fields for implementations as needed without fail.

Other information about the plans of the church will be informed you as needed.

May God bless each and everyone of you and empower you with His spirit for the growth and finishing of His work in Myanmar is my prayer!

In His Service,

Muller Kyaw, President

Myanmar Union Mission
