Adventist World Radio Myanmar extended new languages

The dedication ceremonies of AWR broadcasting new languages Kachin and Pwo Kayin were held separately in Yangon and Pyin Oo Lwin on October 29, 2011.

Adventist World Radio has operated in Myanmar since 1986. It has been broadcasting Burmese, Chin and Sgaw Kayin languages. The Myanmar has variety of ethnic languages spoken by different national races. According to the statistic there are more than 135 languages spoken in Myanmar.

Adventist World Radio program draws many people to the church and spreading the Adventist Hope to Myanmar.

The total country population 59.24 million includes only 2.89 million Christian populations. The AWR radio broadcast is the vital tool for spreading the Adventist Hope to un-reached people in Myanmar.

The new extended radio broadcasting targets 2% Kachin and Pwo Kayin 3% of the country total population.  The majority Kachin race has not so far been reached by Adventist message. The majority of Western Pwo Kayin is Buddhist in Myanmar. (MYUM Communication)
